Resilience & cultural heritage: a focus on Johannesburg by Deborah Kirkman

The Excellence Course “Resilience & Cultural Heritage in Johannesburg" will present the history of the City of Johannesburg, highlighting the influence of mining, money and politics on the city’s development.
The course will deepen the relationship between Johannesburg and Architecture and focus on the resilience of Johannesburg’s cultural heritage. Thanks to theoretical lectures and practical tutorials, the course will highlight how cultural heritage can welcome new technologies to reach sustainability, enhancing their potential for change while maintaining their identity.
