A Minute of Noise for Giulia...(and beyond)

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and following the feminicide of the young student Giulia Cecchettin, we believe that, in addition to the events already scheduled at the Politecnico di Torino, it would be meaningful to have a further moment of engagement and reflection on gender-based violence.

The Single Guarantee Committee, prompted by the WeAreHERe students and Alan Turing Collective, invites the academic community to take part in a symbolic minute of noise on
Friday, Nov. 24, at 1 p.m.
  • in the inner courtyard of the main Politecnico building in Corso Duca.
  • in the inner courtyard (Corte d'Onore) of the Valentino Castle
In the words of Giulia's sister Elena, "For her and all the other victims, we will not remain silent."

The noise should remind us to remain ever vigilant, and each and every one of us do our part, knowing that important moments of remembrance need to be accompanied by concrete and recurring actions on the part of all institutions, starting with the academic ones.
