Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg marks a defining moment in Europe for Tesla’s mission of accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy. There Tesla develops and launches revolutionary products on a massive scale, using extraordinary speed, innovation, and efficiency. In this Tech Talk we will discuss the activities of the Powertrain Engineering department concerning battery cells, high-voltage distribution and battery pack, traction inverter, electric motor, and geartrain - all in-house developed and manufactured. With a deep dive on the electric drive unit, you will walk the steps of design engineers transforming vehicle requirements into a mass-manufacturable multi-physics product, getting an insight of how a fully integrated development cycle defines Tesla's day-to-day tasks and responsibilities.
