Biography

During the five years I spent at Politecnico I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, in October 2015, and a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, with career in Electronic Systems, in April 2018. My particular interest in electronics originates from my time at secondary school, where I studied as an industrial technician, specializing in electronics and telecommunications. As a consequence of the technical classes and laboratory sessions I attended, I decided to become an engineer. Now I'm pursuing a PhD in Electronics and Communication Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Maurizio Martina on a very hot research topic: on-chip Machine learning in the context of Deep Neural Network (DNN). Thanks to the collaboration with the research group of Prof. Luca Benini at the ETH of Zurich, our intent is to focus my research activity on newly dedicated architectures for machine learning with emphasis on on-chip learning. This activity is based on a vertical approach: starting from the algorithm (top) going to the physical implementation (bottom), the aim is to move the training of the DNN toward the device.
