3D Modelling ─ Product Design in the industrial and medical fields

​​​​​​​A core objective in this research area is to design tools for the industrial and medical fields in a targeted and personalized way. In particular, the focus is on the surgical field, thanks to a current collaboration with some hospitals in the area (A.O.U. Città della Salute e della Scienza di Torino…). The research concerns not only the customized design of specific tools to support surgical interventions (guides, prostheses...) thanks to three-dimensional modeling, but also the integration of augmented reality in real time during the intervention itself, medical imaging techniques, Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, and artificial intelligence to predict outcomes on soft tissues and personalize the surgeon's action.
