The ability to provide its graduates with immediate job opportunities is one of the plus offered by Politecnico di Torino: today, the Graduate Employability Rankings 2018, proposed by the prestigious British institute QS, certifies that our Institution is the first university in the world at fostering employability in terms of career perspectives for its graduates.

Our Institution is ranked first place, according to the indicator Graduate Employment Rate, one of the five evaluated by the Graduate Employability Ranking whose evaluation included 600 universities all over the worldthis year.

The indicators taken into consideration are the Employer Reputation of universities, the Partnerships of universities with employers, the Alumni outcomes (success rate of the graduates’ careers), the Employer-Student Connections (number of employers who are actively present on a university’s campus) and the Graduate Employment Rate (within 12 months of graduation).

With reference to this last indicator, based on the ratio between the our University’s Graduate Employment Rate (94%) and the average of the other Italian universities taken into consideration (76.2%), Politecnico gets the best result in the world.

Very good performances for Politecnico also emerged from the other two indicators Employer reputation and Employer-Student connection, where our Institution is ranked second in Italy, which evaluate the reputation of universities among employers and the offered opportunities/promoted initiatives in terms of favoring student work-placement. Overall, taking into consideration the five indicators which compose the ranking and the ascribed weightings, our University is ranked among the 121st and the 130th place and as a result it is included in 25% of the best universities in the world, together with the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University).

“In these years Politecnico di Torino has invested a lot in the education quality, by offering challenging educational programs that can combine solid disciplinary foundations with a  multidisciplinary approach.

Two very important pluses enhance the value of our education system:

on the one hand, strong partnerships within our Territory and with leading international companies in the main manufacturing and advanced services sectors, on the other hand an internationalization policy which gives the opportunity to a high number of our students to take part in mobility projects abroad of variable durations in prestigious foreign partner universities and in several cases to achieve a joint degree.

We were aware of the fact that the education profile of our graduates was appreciated by employers, but this ranking result, in particular, is such a gratifying achievement for us since it represents a precious reward for the excellent work that our university community has been performing in these years” comments the Rector Marco Gilli, who is now on institutional trip in Silicon Valley, and concludes “We are becoming an international reference hub even more and we are proud to contribute, also through this significant result, to the growth and the development  of our Territory and Country”.
