Biography

I graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Siena in 2018 with highest honors (110/110 cum laude, with honors and special mention) with a thesis in Functional Neurosurgery in Parkinson's Disease. During the course of the studies, I performed a three-month research period (Erasmus Traineeship) at Maastricht University Hospital in the Department of Neuroscience and Neuromodulation, directed by Prof. Yasin Temel, an expert in deep brain stimulation and skull base surgery. After graduation, I exported and refined my thesis project to NHS Walton's Centre in Liverpool, where I conducted a two-month Observership, at Dr Jibril Farah's Functional Neurosurgery Unit, investigating the effects of deep brain stimulation in Parkinson's Disease.
During 2019-2024, I did my residency in Neurosurgery at the University of Turin.
At the Complex Unit of Neurosurgery directed by Prof. Diego Garbossa (Città della Salute e della Scienza University Hospital) I cultivated my interests in Skull Base Surgery, Neuro-oncology, Vascular and Spinal Neurosurgery, participating in more than 700 surgeries. I learned and perfected the use of the endoscope for various basicranium pathologies under the expert guidance of Dr. Francesco Zenga (head of the Pituitary and Skull Base Surgery Unit).
During my specialty, I did a 3-month internship at the Pediatric Neurosurgery Unit of Giannina Gaslini Hospital in Genoa and 6 months at the Neurosurgery Unit of Hôpital Lariboisière in Paris directed by Prof. Sébastien Froelich, a world expert in Skull Base Surgery.
I ended my residency in Neurosurgery in November 2024 with the highest grade (70/70 cum laude), special mention and recommendation for publication with a thesis on Vestibular Schwannomas.
During my specialty I participated in several courses and congresses and authored more than 30 publications, dealing with the subjects of my interest.
