Profile

Biography

Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Simelys Hernández in the Catalytic Reaction Engineering for Sustainable Technologies (CREST) group at the Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) since March 2022. Since March 2024, I have been awarded a prestigious Marie Sklodowska-Curie individual fellowship at POLITO within the SuPERCO2-101104004 project, for which, starting in November 2025, I am undertaking a four-month internship at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) under the supervision of Prof. Raffaella Buonsanti. Previously, I worked in the group of Prof. Núria López at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ, Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology, Tarragona, Spain) for the FlowPhotoChem project (grant ID: 862453). My research focuses on modeling the electrochemical reduction of CO2 and CO on transition metal catalysts. In 2020, I obtained a Ph.D. in Chemical Science and Technology from the Rovira i Virgili University under the co-supervision of Prof. Núria López and Dr. Rodrigo Garcia-Muelas. During my Ph.D., I carried out two short research stays at Leiden University (in Prof. Marc Koper's group) and Avantium Chemicals BV (in Dr. Klaas Jan P. Schouten's group). Before my Ph.D., I earned an M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Turin in 2017, with a thesis on photoelectrochemical cells developed at Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden).
