Biography

The research activity of Elisa Padovano is mainly focused on the investigation of the processing-structure-properties relationship of advanced materials fabricated by additive manufacturing techniques. She gained experience in the processing and characterization of innovative materials for different applications: development of multilayer ceramic matrix composites for re-entry vehicles, metal matrix composites for high-temperature applications and polymer-based composites for transport (automotive) industry. The research activity is mainly focused on: (i) the development of new polymer-based composites to be processed by selective laser sintering and fused filament fabrication techniques and (ii) the processing of innovative metal materials by powder bed fusion technologies. Elisa Padovano is author or co-author of more than 40 scientific papers published in international peer-review journals, and various presentations in international and national conferences in the field of materials science and engineering.
