Biography

I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Environment, Land and Infrastructure Engineering (DIATI) at Politecnico di Torino, where I teach river hydraulics, hydraulic structures, applied hydrology, and climate change adaptation. My research focuses on ecohydraulics, river habitat modelling, and environmental flow assessment, with a particular interest in the sustainable management of water resources and the development of environmentally friendly hydropower systems. I have coordinated and participated in several European and international research projects, including Euro-FLOW (H2020-MSCA ITN), ECOFLOW (Interreg), CREANat, HolRiverMed, and other initiatives in Italy, Spain, Lithuania, and Brazil. My work has contributed to experimental methodologies such as the MesoHABSIM model and innovative approaches to environmental flow evaluation. I am the course coordinator for “Hydropower Plants” in the Master’s programs in Electrical and Energy Engineering, and I teach courses on River Engineering and Restoration, Operational Hydrology, Environmental Hydraulics, and Climate Change Adaptation in Civil and Environmental Engineering degrees. I also supervise MSc theses and PhD students and collaborate with universities in Italy and abroad.
