"A recognisable and recognised University with a well- established international reputation for excellence in education and research, a driving force for regional development”.

These are the trajectories that our University is drawing for the coming years with the new ‘PoliTOinTransition’ Strategic Plan 2024-2030.

The Plan has been drawn up on the basis of the three major transitions affecting our society - digital, ecological and socio-cultural - and in which Politecnico intends to play a leading role. These are the transitions that permeate all the activities of a University that will focus on three major objectives in the coming years:

  • to position itself firmly among the best European and international technological universities;
  • to strengthen its role as a driver of competitiveness within the local ecosystem;
  • to become attractive, recognisable and recognised by enhancing the value of its distinctive features.

Towards the 2024-2030 Strategic Plan

With the start of the 2024-2030 Rector's term of office, a strategic planning phase for our University began, leading to the definition of the Strategic Plan. Rooted in Rector Corgnati’s electoral programme, the process evolved over the first months of the mandate engaging the entire PoliTo community. Between June and September 2024, seven thematic workshops, under the direction of the Vice-Rectors and the Director-General, coordinated by the Vice-Rectors for the Strategic Plan, Filippo Molinari, involved all the members of the academic community.

Subsequently, during an active discussion with Politecnico di Torino stakeholders where representatives from the business and industry world, associations, economics, institutions, communication, and local social sectors were invited, considerations were initiated on how our University is perceived externally and actions were proposed to further strengthen the bond between Politecnico and the local ecosystem.

Implementation of the Strategic Plan

To implement the PoliTOinTransition Strategic Plan, an Action Plan has been defined - a concrete and highly design-oriented methodological tool that identifies the Areas of intervention and the actions/milestones on which Politecnico di Torino will focus to achieve its strategic objectives.

The Action Plan associated with the new PoliTOinTransition Strategic Plan was drafted in its first edition for the 2025-2027 three-year period and will be updated annually on a rolling basis.

The document is available as an integral part of the Integrated Plan of Activities and Organization (PIAO).
