Danilo Bazzanella
Professor in the Department of Mathematical Science at the Politecnico di Torino. Co-founder of CrypTO - the Cryptography and Number Theory Group, and mentor for BitPolito, a student team devoted to the dissemination, research, and development of Bitcoin and Blockchain technologies.
He served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Politecnico di Torino from 2013 to 2020 and is currently a member of the Academic Senate. He is a founding member of De Componendis Cifris, the Italian Association of Cryptography, and serves as the director of the CrypTO node within the Cybersecurity National Lab. Additionally, he is a member of the DLT Group, the Italian Distributed Ledger Technology Working Group.
Antonio Di Scala
Mathematician, Full Professor of Mathematics at the Polytechnic University of Turin. Co-founder of CrypTO: Cryptography and Number Theory Group. He is an expert in Differential Geometry. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Fa.M.A.F., National University of Córdoba, Argentina.
In the mid-1980s, he started programming and obtained a degree as a Computer Technician. The theoretical study of programming languages made him decide to study mathematics. He graduated in mathematics from the National University of La Plata, Argentina. He discovered the fascination of Riemann geometry, tensors, and their invariants, which led him to move to the city of Córdoba and attend the Fa.M.A.F. institute. He won the Researcher competition in 2003 and began teaching Geometry at the Polytechnic University of Turin. Since 2018, he has been learning, teaching, and conducting research in cryptography as well. He is passionate about Bitcoin.
