The Second Pillar - Global challanges and European industrial competitiveness: a cross-cutting reading of the 2021 calls for proposals: novelties, structure, opportunities, mission and partnerships

Horizon Europe is the next European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation for the 2021-2027 period.

The programme, with a view to evolving from the current Horizon 2020, aims to: strengthen the scientific and technological bases of the EU and the European Research Area, improve the innovative capacity, the competitiveness of the European industrial system and generate employment in Europe.

This webinar, held in Italian by lecturers from the Agency for the Promotion of European Research (APRE), will present the second Pillar - Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness, illustrating its features, the structure and rules of the work programmes (including the proposal template and evaluation criteria), the European Partnerships and the missions.

The lecturer is Ms. Serena Borgna, National Contact Point (NCP) for the topic "SC2 - Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry, Marine, Maritime and Inland Water Research and the Bioeconomy", "ERC - European Research Council" e "NMBP - Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Advanced Manufacturing and Processing, and Biotechnology" per H2020.

Ms. Serena Borgna bio
She joined APRE at the beginning of 2008 and is now Head of Department for Institutional Activities. She has been appointed by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) as National Contact Point (NCP) for the themes "SC2 - Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry, Marine, Maritime and Inland Water Research and the Bioeconomy", "ERC - European Research Council" and "NMBP - Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Advanced Manufacturing and Processing, and Biotechnology" for the HORIZON 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, in continuation of the activities already carried out in the same areas within the 7th Framework Programme for R&TD. She has a broad knowledge of the mechanisms underlying the European research and innovation programmes thanks to many years of experience in project management. Serena has lectured extensively on the structure of H2020 and on how to structure a European project proposal on the SC2 - Bioeconomy, ERC and NMBP programmes in Horizon 2020, at universities and research centres, as well as on the institutional partnerships present in the programme itself.
