ERC Online Infoday, December 10, 2020
The European Research Council (ERC), through its different funding schemes (Starting, Consolidator, Advanced), offers individual funding to conduct frontier research on topics proposed by the researchers.
The deadlines foreseen in the first Horizon Europe Work Programme (ERC-WP-2021) are the following:
Starting Grant: March 9, 2021 (tbc) / Consolidator Grant: April 20, 2021 (tbc) /Advanced Grant: August 31, 2021 (tbc).
The infoday, targeted to postdocs, researchers and professors of the Politecnico di Torino, aims to provide an overview of the opportunities offered by the ERC, to illustrate the key features of an ERC idea and of a Principal Investigator profile, to present the novelty of the program in Horizon Europe and the support offered to our candidates and winners.
The workshop will be held by Dr. Onorato, who has been the ERC program advisor since 2012, with the participation of Prof. Bella who will present his experience as winner of an ERC Starting Grant 2020.

What the program funds? Purpose of the ERC Work Programme, features of the ERC calls and novelties in Horizon Europe. Criteria for evaluating the Idea and the CV.
10:15 - Participation to the ERC at the European, Italian and Politecnico di Torino level.
10.30 - Prof. Federico Bella, PI of the ERC project, SuN2rise. Strengths of the CV and the Project.
11.00 Coffee Break
11.15 - Preliminary overview regarding the writing of an ERC proposal. 2-Step Evaluation Iter and related Templates. How to organize the scientific part of the proposal. How to organize your CV and track record
12.00 - Initiatives in support of ERC candidates and winners
12:15 - Questions
12:30 - Conclusion
