Call for Proposals | Third States General of the Heritage Industrial
On the occasion of the International Conference "Third General Assembly of Industrial Heritage", to be held in Bari, Matera, and Lecce from 5 to 8 February 2026, with the participation of Rossella Maspoli, professor of the Department of Architecture and Design-DAD of Politecnico di Torino.
Promoted by the Italian Association for Industrial Archaeological Heritage (AIPAI), the Third General Assembly on Industrial Heritage will meet to take stock and develop strategies and visions for the near future. It is essential to create the most fertile conditions for dialogue between professionals and communities, as well as for encounters between the various operational, research and institutional fields involved.
Industrial heritage consists of what we recognise as significant in the recent past of working civilisation. It is the answer to questions that do not belong only to scholars, but arise first and foremost from communities and businesses, in order to understand themselves and contribute to being ready for the cultural, economic, social and environmental challenges of the present and the years to come. Recognition, therefore, is the result of complex processes that play an important role in the evolution of cities and industrial and post-industrial landscapes. It is therefore strategic to meet periodically to identify and explore the values of industrial heritage, both tangible and intangible, according to the approaches developed over more than seventy years by the world of industrial archaeology.
The conference is divided into ten thematic areas for which proposals may be submitted:
