The research focuses on innovative electric and hybrid vehicles, primarily aimed at reducing fuel consumption. It integrates the functionalities of electric, thermal, or hydrogen propulsion, modelling and control, structural modelling with lightweight materials, vehicle dynamics to improve performance (both in terms of comfort and handling), comprehensive energy modelling, instrumented track tests for experimental validation of mathematical models, wind tunnel tests, and mathematical correlation with CFD and optimization models. The research also covers applications and systems for human-vehicle interaction, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-structure interaction, and the development of prototypes of scaled-down and full-scale systems and vehicles.
