Logistics and Warehouses

Research on logistics and warehouses focuses on the development of innovative models for material handling within industrial plants, exploiting cutting-edge automation technologies. Moreover, warehouse layouts and storage systems are studied, with particular attention to automated systems. In the context of research, tools such as discrete event simulation and Digital Twin are applied to analyze and develop case studies, also in a laboratory enviroment. These tools allow simulating and evaluating the effectiveness of alternative solutions. In addition to the industrial field, the research is aimed at addressing logistics and the design of warehouses in hospital-healthcare contexts. In this sector, emphasis is placed on the centralization and outsourcing of healthcare warehouses, with the aim of improving efficiency and reducing costs. Furthermore, micrologistics within hospital wards and operating theaters is also studied, to optimize the flow of materials and ensure their efficient management.
