Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) represents the objective characterization of indoor environments in terms of thermal, acoustic, lighting and air quality domains. IEQ significantly affects occupants’ comfort, well-being, health and work productivity. Standards and certification schemes propose a different number of parameters and indexes to be considered, thus the detection of the ones mostly related to perceived comfort is needed. Furthermore, there is still a lack of multi-domain approaches for IEQ assessment, but nowadays it is possible to deepen the research performing intensive long-term monitoring campaigns thanks to the use of low-cost sensors, within the IoT framework. To date, IEQ monitoring is correlated with indoor comfort, energy consumptions, occupant behaviour or Building Automation and Control Systems. Nevertheless, a defined strategy to get outcomes on this data is needed with respect to the different types of buildings and experimental facilities.
