This line of research aims to discuss the history of construction in the early modern and modern era in a wide, international context (actors, processes, economies, techniques, theories...). We encourage a multidisciplinary approach, where all the disciplines represented in DASP are engaged.
An emphasis is placed on new research questions and research involving innovative use of historical sources, such as the exploration of entire archives and archival funds of construction companies, legal documents, surveys… We seek intersections with other DASP research lines such as environmental history and building technology, and with the CHG, the DAD-Polito research center on Construction History.
