Biography
His university path began in 2015 at University of Trieste in Computer and Electronic Engineering, and led to a Bachelor’s Thesis regarding the development of an algorithm dealing with interferences in antenna array systems, a key technology of 5G. The study was successful and derived the paper: G. Buttazzoni, F. Babich, R. Tuninato F. Vatta and M. Comisso, “Phase-Only Pattern Synthesis with Interference Suppression for Large-Scale Antenna Arrays” presented at ICECom international conference (2019).
Due to the strong interest in 5G, the choice of the Master’s Degree fell on the Communications and Computer Networks Engineering (CCNE) course offered by Politecnico di Torino, deepening the ICT concepts that he considers most interesting.
At the end of this course, the Master's Thesis defined its field of interest even more precisely. The thesis is entitled: “Algorithms for NR synchronization layer functions”, by proposal and in collaboration with TELECOM ITALIA. The PhD is therefore the natural continuation of this work, defining its starting point. The new goals are to analyze new aspects of NR physical layer and try different approaches, ranging from well-knows to completely new ICT concepts and solutions, such as Machine Learning, Coding Techniques and Beamforming.
His choices have always been guided by a deep interest in computer technology, demonstrated since his younger age with the choice of an IT technical institute for higher school education. Its curiosity is not limited only on engineering topics but also on broaden his point of view, especially looking at experiences abroad, such was the Leonardo project, a summer internship carried out in England during high school.
