Biography

Giuseppe Caruso got his Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering in February 2018 and received his Master’s degree (with honors) in Communications and Computer Network Engineering in December 2019, both at Politecnico di Torino. His Master’s Thesis dealt with developing a simulator of VCSELs for datacenters and was in part carried out at PhotonLab facilities and was supervised by Prof. Roberto Gaudino and Dr. Pierluigi Debernardi.
In November 2020 he becomes a PhD candidate in the Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering Doctorate program at Politecnico di Torino, specifically an Industrial PhD position in the Optical Access Networks group at the Huawei Research Center in Munich, under the supervision of Ivan N. Cano (Huawei Munich) and Roberto Gaudino, Valter Ferrero and Giuseppe Rizzelli (Politecnico di Torino).
His research currently targets high speed optical access networks, focusing on new techniques and systems to achieve passive optical network going beyond 50 Gbit/s.
