Abstract
The goal of the BioMetaRail Project is moving the outputs of BOHEME research towards a marketable innovative solution based on bio-inspired MetaMaterials (MM), addressing the ground-borne vibrations in the railway sector. MetaRail Project will represent the bridge between the research results achieved by the FETOPEN project BOHEME in terms of designs, numerical modellingmodeling and experimental results for bio-inspired hierarchical MM and the market needs and expectations in the railway sector for the challenging problem of the ground-borne vibrations. In order to verify the market readiness to accept the proposed solution, the project will both carry out a market analysis with a benchmark of solutions currently available and end-users’ engagement in order to collect their needs and feedbacks. The cost assessment of the proposed solution, together with the outputs of the previous activities, will allow to define a business case and a commercialization process in order to set up the next steps of bio-inspired MM solution’s exploitation in the real environment.
