Abstract

GlycoView is an innovative endogenous MRI method for the in vivo diagnosis of both tumor and neurodegenerative pathologies (Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ALS) based on the localized observation of the eregulation of glycolysis. The method responds to an extremely relevant clinical need as it has an endogenous character, i.e. it does not involve the use of contrast agents. It is non-invasive and compatible with fragile patients (e.g. with renal failure). It also allows a quantification of the kinetics of deregulated metabolic processes for a better characterization of pathologies (e.g. tumor aggressiveness). Glycoview is based a radical innovation in the 31P CEST paradigm, allowing the amplification by 4 orders of magnitude of endogenous signals of phosphorylated substrates that are otherwise below detection thresholds. Glycoview will develop and commercialize a suite of software tools for image acquisition, data reconstruction, and metabolic analysis compatible with existing MRI devices.
