Abstract

Spoke 7 aims at the development of innovative solutions and enabling tools to support "sector coupling" in multi-carrier and multi-sectorial integrated energy systems, also addressing grid flexibility and resilience issues. The general areas of activity are represented by: Simulation and digital twinning of integrated energy systems at different scales (smart energy communities, metropolitan and territorial systems, national energy system) taking into account interactions with the relevant contexts; Development, implementation and testing of solutions and technologies for smart sector integration, to promote smart energy flows/stocks exchange in multi-carrier and multi-sectorial systems; Setup of platforms for interoperable development of applications and data management and sharing, to foster industrial symbiosis, promote public awareness and enable management, control, sizing and diagnostics of integrated energy systems and multi-hubs; Analysis and management of environmental, economic-societal, and legal-regulatory constraints to pursue sustainable and smart energy integration.
