Abstract
This proposal answers the Erasmus Mundus Design Measures (EMDM) call. The aim of the three partner universities: Politecnico di Torino (PoliTO, Italy), Ecole Centrale de Lyon (ECL, France), and Technical University of Denmark (DTU, Denmark) is to ideate and design a new double degree or joint Erasmus Mundus Master in AeroAcoustics (MA2). MA2 will provide students with: - Aerodynamic and acoustics theoretical background knowledge. - Hands-on training using state-of-the-art software and experimental techniques. - Development of soft skills and continuous interaction with associated partners (i.e., from academia, research centres, and industry). MA2 will adopt a pedagogical approach based on the most innovative teaching methods where the students will actively learn by doing and will be continuously exposed to feedback provided by the associated partners. MA2 is structured in 4 semesters of 30 ECTS each. In the first two semesters (i.e., first year), MA2 students will learn about unsteady aerodynamics, turbulence, and acoustics, while, in the second year, they will be exposed to multidisciplinary topics and case studies proposed by the associated partners. A variety of innovative multidisciplinary classes, bridging engineering and societal sciences, and engineering and physics, will be offered together with a 30 ECTS MSc thesis in collaboration with at least two of the partner universities and one of the associated partners. MSc students enrolling in the MA2 programme will have the opportunity to work in teams and build soft and entrepreneurial skills, which are essential for their personal growth as future technology and business leaders in an always more competitive and connected world. With MA2 we aim a forming the next generation of EU citizens and engineers, ready to work on multidisciplinary and complex problems with an open-minded approach. This generation of engineers will contribute to the EU's growth in many fields, such as industry and academia.
