Biografia

CAREER I pursued my doctoral studies at the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics within the INPhINIT "la Caixa" / Marie Skłodowska-Curie PhD Fellowship program, obtaining the Ph.D. in Mathematics and Statistics in January 2021. From July 2021 to May 2024, I worked as a research fellow in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Politecnico di Torino, contributing to the project "Nested Models in Biomedicine." After a subsequent postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Parma, I began my current appointment as a Junior Assistant Professor (RTD-a) at the Politecnico di Torino in April 2025. RESEARCH My research lies at the interface between mathematics and biology, focusing on the development of mathematical and computational models to investigate collective cell dynamics, with a particular, although not exclusive, focus on tumour evolution and treatment response. I work with mathematical models describing cellular behaviour across different scales, ranging from microscopic to macroscopic descriptions. Some of these models are formally derived from kinetic equations, while others are formulated directly at the macroscopic level. This approach enables the study of how diverse microscopic behaviors interact to generate emergent large-scale phenomena. A key aspect is integrating biological and clinical data into theoretical frameworks to improve both model relevance and predictive power.
