Research Plan
- Phase 1: Taxonomy & Gap Analysis (Nov 2025 – May 2026): Conducting a Systematic Literature Review to build a taxonomical matrix of organizational forms (from Social Enterprises to post-capitalist models). Entities will be mapped across five dimensions: Institutional Identity, Governance & Power, Economic-Financial Models, Market & Impact, and Ecosystem factors. This phase aims to identify theoretical and empirical gaps.
- Phase 2: State of the Art & PESTEL (June 2026 – Sep 2026): Comparative analysis of international best/worst practices to identify "mission drift" risks. On a local scale, the study will map the Piedmont ecosystem (Turin area), focusing on the strategic fit between for-profit firms and social enterprises.
- Phase 3: Ecosystem & Catalyst Analysis (Sep 2026 – Dec 2026): Investigation into "Catalyst" actors (Universities, Foundations, Banking Institutions) as intermediaries reducing transaction costs. Analysis of policy levers (e.g., Third Sector Reform, ESG) to define conditions for transitioning from pilot projects to systemic innovation.
- Phase 4: Framework & KPI Development (Jan 2027 – June 2027): Design of a multidimensional KPI set for integrated measurement. This operational tool will bridge the gap between traditional financial reporting and social impact assessment.
- Phase 5: International Validation (July 2027 – April 2028): A 4-to-8 month research period abroad to validate the framework's scalability across different regulatory and socio-economic ecosystems (Cross-Country Analysis).
- Phase 6: Synthesis & Thesis (April 2028 – Oct 2028): Final refinement of governance guidelines and doctoral dissertation.
Extracurricular training includes specialized inter-university courses on Conceptual Frameworks (Bergamo/Napoli), Qualitative Methods (Bologna), and Management Research (Bari).
Dissemination & Networking I plan to engage with the academic community through the AiIG Summer School and Annual Scientific Meetings. International validation will be sought by presenting papers at conferences such as EURAM and EGOS, focusing on Social Innovation and Sustainability Management tracks.
