Biography
In December 2020 he got his Master’s degree cum laude in Computer Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, with the thesis “JackTrip-WebRTC – Networked music performance with web technologies” supervised by prof. Antonio Servetti. The thesis focused on showing an alternative approach to peer-to-peer high quality and low latency audio streaming by exploring an unconventional solution based on WebRTC’s DataChannels. The code has been released as open source and it’s available on GitHub.
In January 2021 he got involved as a Reseach Fellow in the development of a proof of concept related to networked music performance (NMP), supervised by prof. Cristina Rottondi and prof. Andrea Bianco.
From November 2021 he’s a PhD student in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications (DET) of Politecnico di Torino, under the supervision of prof. Cristina Rottondi and prof. Andrea Bianco.
His main research topic is Networked Music Performance (NMP). In particular, the research initially the research focused mainly in the improvement of the solution developed during his thesis, to improve the scalability of such solution, by separating the number of audio processor running from the number of connected users. This improved solution was presented in a paper which was published on the November 2022 on the Journal of Audio Engineering Society (JAES), paper which got awarded the "2022 JAES Best Paper Award". Then his research focused on the study and development of an audio packet loss concealment solution based on autoregressive models, optimized to be able to run on low-power devices such as the Raspberry Pi 4B.
Other interests he has involve music, piano, everything related to software development, Linux, Raspberry Pis and open source software
