Biography

PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, completing her Master’s degree in April 2024. Master's thesis: "Application of Active Thermography for the Characterization of Surface Treatments in Gears", focused on the application of active thermography to the characterization of surface treatments in mechanical gears.
Her doctoral research focuses on the development of full-field non-destructive testing techniques for the quality control of carbon-ceramic brake discs. In particular, she uses active thermography to monitor the thermal and geometric properties of brake discs, detect potential defects and develop reliable inspection systems that can be integrated into the manufacturing process. The research aims to improve product safety, reduce waste and optimize production.
Her work combines laboratory experiments, analytical and numerical modelling, and statistical data analysis. As part of her PhD, she also completed a six-month research stay at the Chair of Non-Destructive Testing at the Technical University of Munich, Germany
