Biography

Luca Mannella has received his B.Sc. and his M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Torino with a final score of 110/110.
He realized his master thesis entitled “Heuristics and Evolutionary Algorithm for Android Malware Signature Optimization” under the supervision of Giovanni Squillero and Andrea Marcelli, from the Department of Control and Computing Engineering of Politecnico.
His thesis was focused on the development and the improvement of a Python tool that generates rules able to detect Android malwares.

During his university period, Luca was member of JEToP (the Politecnico's Junior Enterprise) and he was one of the first member to contribute to the foundation of the Mu Nu Chapter of IEEE-HKN, a local section of a worldwide honor society that promotes worthy students and professionals in the fields of interest of IEEE.

After his graduation, in September 2018, Luca obtained the professional qualification for the profession of ICT engineer.

From September 2018 to October 2020, he was part of IoT & Pervasive Technology research area of LINKS Foundation (former ISMB).
His activities were focused on the development and maintenance of some internal assets and on development and management activities of some regional and European founded projects.

From November 2020, Luca is enrolled in the Ph.D. in Computer and Control Engineering of Politecnico di Torino under the supervision of professors Fulvio Corno and Antonio Lioy.
