Biography

Lorenzo Tunesi is a PhD student in Electronic and Communications Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. He was born on the 5th of December, 1996 in Savigliano, Italy.
He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Electronic And Communications Engineering in 2019 (Politecnico di Torino). In 2019 he enrolled in a Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, with a major in Devices and Technologies for Integrated Electronics and Optoelectronics. He graduated in 2021 with a Masters's thesis on: "Integrated Benes optical switches: an automated bottom-up design implementation".
He received a research scholarship in Politecnico from May 2021 to September 2021, focusing on Silicon Photonics applications for optical networking and multi-stage switching architectures.
On October 2021 he enrolled in the Electronic and Communication engineering PhD, continuing his previous work on integrated devices for optical networking, which is currently ongoing.
His current research topics cover the design of Silicon Photonic devices for multi-band transparent networking and the characterization of integrated solutions for both WDM and core switching applications.
