Biography

My name is Grazia D’Onghia and I may define myself as a dynamic and active person. My university studies have been quite heterogeneous, although concerning the ICT world. After taking the diploma at Liceo Classico Massimo D'Azeglio, I took the bachelor degree in Physics Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. However, I casually discovered my passion for computer science during the curricular internship at Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN) in Turin, where I had to analyse data collected by detectors about the protons’ range during simulations. Therefore, I became familiar with coding and found out that I wanted to pursue studies in computer science. As a consequence, I decided to get a master’s degree in Computer Engineering. Thanks to my determination and passion I successfully completed the master’s degree despite the lack of foundations in computer science due to my previous study path. In this way I developed an elastic mind capable of both theoretical and practical thinking. After having taken the master's degree I realised that I wanted to join the Research world, thus I applied for the PhD in Quantum Computing applications to Cybersecurity and related algorithms. This research topic perfectly matches with what I have studied throughout the years: the quantum world from bachelor and the cybersecurity from the master.
