Biography

Giacomo Garaccione received a MSc degree in Computer Engineering, Software branch, from Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy, where he is currently working toward a PhD degree with the Softeng group. His main research interest is gamification (the use of game elements in non-recreational context with the purpose of increasing the interest and motivation of those involved) applied to various disciplines related to Software Engineering. Most of his work focuses on applying gamification techniques to software modeling education, but he also worked on developing online and IDE plugins for gamified Graphical User Interface (GUI) testing. Additionally, he is also working on studies focused on software models evaluation for both education and requirements definition that make use of artificial intelligence and natural language processing techniques to validate models.
His final aim for the end of his PhD is to develop a complete gamified environment for software modeling and software requirements education focused on performing automated, human-like validation and feedback.
