Biography

Fabio Cammarota was born in Salerno on 19 December 2000. He obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in Biomedical Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino. Since March 2026 he has been a PhD student at the Department of Management and Production Engineering (DIGEP) of the Politecnico di Torino, where he works on the analysis of human factors in manufacturing systems.
His current research focuses on the analysis of stress in manufacturing contexts, integrating biomedical knowledge with a perspective rooted in production engineering. In line with the human-centric paradigm promoted by Industry 5.0, his PhD project investigates how different production logics, individual characteristics and environmental conditions influence physiological stress responses, with the aim of translating experimental evidence into concrete, person-centred solutions.
The PhD project will build upon the analysis of the experimental data collected, in order to establish a solid methodological framework. The resulting insights will guide a subsequent simulation phase, aimed at assessing the impact of different production logics on workers' stress levels, leading to the development of practical solutions for the design of safer and more sustainable working environments.
His research interests include human factors in smart manufacturing, the physiological measurement of occupational stress, and the integration of worker well-being with the efficiency of production processes.
