Biography

Ermando Petracca, born on August 15, 1996, in Lecce, Italy, is currently pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. His research focuses on the modeling and optimization of hybrid offshore platforms that integrate Floating Offshore Wind Turbines (FOWTs) with Wave Energy Converters (WECs). After obtaining his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a thesis on the design and economic analysis of hybrid offshore wind and wave energy systems, he gained valuable experience in research and industrial settings, including roles at MOREnergy Lab and Enel Green Power. Ermando has also engaged in international collaborations, such as his Erasmus experience in France, where he developed methodologies for critical component health monitoring. His expertise includes numerical modeling, renewable energy systems, and advanced simulation tools, making significant contributions to sustainable offshore energy solutions.
