Biography

Elena Vigliocco, PhD in Teoria e Costruzione dell’Architettura in 2005. Since 2017, she is Assistant professor in Architectural and Urban Design at the Politecnico di Torino, Dipartimento Architettura e Design. She is staff member of the FULL – Future Urban Legacy Lab. From January to June 2019 she was visiting Professor at the Pontificia Universidad de la Javeriana in Bogotá (Colombia). Her research is focused on adaptive reuse of pre-existing buildings and renewal interventions on public buildings. In particular she is the coordinator of the research project titled “Studi di fattibilità finalizzati a garantire, mediante interventi rifunzionalizzazione, modalità di conservazione e valorizzazione di beni culturali della Regione Piemonte (Borgo Medievale in Comune di Torino, Forte di Fenestrelle in Comune di Fenestrelle, Borgo Castello della Mandria in Comune di Venaria Reale)” (Dipartimento Architettura e Design / Regione Piemonte). She took part in many conferences such as the International Conference “Vous avez dit espace commun? Nouvelle pratiques, éthiques et formes sensibles de gouvernance de la ville et du territoire” at ENSA, Saint-étienne, 20-22 November 2019, or the International Conference “PROCEED with care: living with tourism”, National Assotiation for Interdisciplinary Activities in the Field of Heritage and Tourism, Sibenik, 2 November 2019. She is author of many papers and books such as Activation strategies for non-performing cultual legacy, in ReUSO Matera 2019. Patrimonio in divenire. Conoscere Valorizzare Abitare, Gangemi Editore, Napoli 2019, with M. Robiglio or Riattivazione di beni culturali non performanti // Non-performing cultural heritage reactivation, Politecnico di Torino, Torino 2020.
