Biography

Cristina Origlia is a Ph.D student at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications (DET) at Politecnico di Torino. She completed the Degree (2018) and the Master’s Degree (2021) in Biomedical Engineering, with a specialization in biomedical instrumentation, both at Politecnico di Torino. She completed her master’s thesis titled “A hybrid simulation-measurement calibration scheme for microwave brain imaging” under the supervision of Prof. Francesca Vipiana at DET. Her research focuses on advancing a microwave brain imaging device, with a particular emphasis on the imaging algorithm and the implementation of innovative calibration techniques. The goals are enhancing the quantitative reconstruction of target permittivity and devising effective procedures to overcome calibration challenges in systems where the introduction of known targets is impractical.
