Biography

My research focuses on the virtual prototyping of cyber-physical systems. Modern embedded products tightly integrate hardware, software, physical processes and, increasingly, machine learning. Validating them traditionally depends on physical prototypes, which arrive late in the design cycle and are expensive to build. My work aims to close this gap by developing simulation frameworks that bring all these components together early in the design process, as a single virtual system that can be tested, analyzed and refined before any hardware exists.

Open standards are central to this approach. They allow models from different tools, domains and levels of abstraction to interoperate without ad-hoc integration. Reproducibility matters just as much to me, which is why I release my frameworks as open-source software.
More recently, my interests have expanded to machine learning within simulation, distributed co-simulation and deterministic software execution. I am also drawn to biomedical applications, such as digital twins of the human body for the validation of wearable and assistive technologies.
