Biography
Andrea Cosola obtained his Master’s degree in Materials Engineering (2018) and his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Technology (2022) from Politecnico di Torino, the latter conducted in collaboration with the Grützmacher Group at ETH Zurich, working on the design of multifunctional molecules for advanced 3D printing applications. After earning his Ph.D., he continued his research as a postdoctoral fellow, first at the National Interuniversity Consortium for Materials Science and Technology (INSTM), and subsequently at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA Saclay – Laboratory of Irradiated Solids, École Polytechnique), where he investigated the 4D printing of smart multifunctional materials. Since May 2024, he has been Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Science and Technology at Politecnico di Torino. His research interests primarily focus on the development of biopolymers, smart polymers and nanocomposites for photopolymerization-based 3D and 4D printing technologies.
