Biography

Alessandro Varaldi received his bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering in 2020 from the Polytechnic University of Turin and his master's degree in Mechatronics Engineering in 2023, also from the Polytechnic University of Turin. During his master's thesis, he designed the architecture of a hardware accelerator for an object detection algorithm based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs). Currently, he is attending the PhD program in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin, in collaboration with Ideas & Motion. His research activity focuses on the design of architectures for hardware accelerators of recurrent neural networks (RNNs), with particular attention to the needs of the automotive industry in terms of accuracy, efficiency and area.
