Biography
Candan Eylül Kilsedar obtained her BSc degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Sabanci University in 2012 and her MSc degree in Informatics Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2014. She worked as a research fellow in the GEOlab of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DICA) at Politecnico di Milano from 2015 to 2020, where she contributed to various projects, mainly on the urban environment. She obtained her PhD with honours from Politecnico di Milano in 2020, focusing on the use of free and open-source software for multidimensional visualisation and processing of open urban geospatial data. From 2020 to 2025, she worked in Directorate D (Sustainable Resources), Unit D.1 (Forests and Bioeconomy) and Unit D.6 (Nature Conservation and Observations), Knowledge Centre on Earth Observation (KCEO) Team at the Joint Research Centre (JRC).
