Biography

Nestor Mejia received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Polytechnic School, Ecuador, in 2008 and an M.Sc. in Fluid Mechanics from the Beijing Jiaotong University, China, in 2013. He worked as an associate professor at the Civil Engineering Faculty within the Department of Earth Sciences and Construction of the University of the Armed Forces ESPE and Central University in Ecuador. His research interests include the propagation of blast shock waves, the dynamic response of structural components under the impact of blast shock waves, and structural analysis of RC elements reinforced with FRP. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the Polytechnic of Torino and is interested in rock mechanics, material fracture mechanism, and TBM prediction model.
