Biography

I am specialised in renewable geothermal solutions and their integration into district heating networks. My research, which is co-funded by IREN, examines a range of potential scenarios for the utilisation of low-enthalpy geothermal energy in urban settings. It focuses on the investigation of open-loop and closed-loop systems, as well as thermal energy storage.
My work is based on an in-depth study of geological and hydrogeological modelling, with the objective of supporting the sustainable development of these systems. I utilise advanced techniques, including geostatistics, uncertainty analysis and model calibration, which I integrate into finite difference software (MODFLOW) and finite element software (FEFLOW). My research topic is to develop efficient and sustainable energy solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into existing urban infrastructures. Additionally, I contribute to teaching in several undergraduate and graduate courses related to Civil, Environmental and Energy Engineering.
