Biography

I am Giorgia Carano, I graduated in Applied Geology at the University of Study of Turin on April 2021 with a thesis in Structural Geology based on a one-month field trip along two transects, Modi Khola and Mardi Himal, located in the Annapurna Region (Central – Western Nepal). Two days after my graduation I have had the opportunity and the fortune to go to Finland where I joined a small but close-knit group of geologists from different backgrounds to work as an exploration geologist at a gold deposit. The Finnish 8-months experience is now the most relevant I have had even if after that I got other two, one in Virginia on a coal project and one in Egypt where the Company is trying to set up an Iron mine. On the base of my young junior experience, I am very determined, and I have a strong ability to adapt not only to situations but also to new places and new goals.
I like to work in team especially if they are heterogeneous in terms of previous training/experience and culture/origin of the members. I argue that the more various a team is, the more dynamic it is. More ideas, more debate, and a much more profitable comparison. Currently, I am leveraging my expertise to understand the supply of critical raw materials for Europe in order to support the global goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
