Biography

Alen Shahini was born in Alessandria, Italy. He received his Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin, Turin, Italy, in 2023 with the thesis ‘Simulation of Histological Images using Generative Adversarial Networks’. He worked as a research fellow from September 2023 to October 2024 at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, Politecnico di Torino. He is currently a PhD student in Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of the Politecnico di Torino. His main area of expertise includes the development and validation of single-mode and multi-mode artificial intelligence techniques, based on Machine Learning and Deep Learning, for the analysis and processing of medical data and images. His research interests focus in particular on digital pathology and precision oncology, with the aim of improving classification, segmentation, prediction and simulation processes to support clinical decision-making and improve patient diagnosis and treatment.
