Biography

Giulia Rotunno received her Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2021 with the thesis “Optical coherence tomography angiography and automatic vascular analysis: seeing skin lesions from a different perspective” in collaboration with the Medical University of Vienna where her thesis project was carried out. She worked as a Researcher under grant from August 2021 to December 2021 at the Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering of the Medical University of Vienna. She is a Ph.D. student in Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of Politecnico di Torino, Italy. Her research is mainly focused on biomedical image processing and in particular on the non-invasive vascular quantification using biomedical photoacoustic and optical imaging, applied in dermatology. Moreover she is involved in the Horizon 2020 European REAP project (Grand ID: 101016964) which deals with revealing drug tolerant persister cells in cancer using contrast enhanced optical coherence and photoacoustic tomography.
