Biography

Bruna Cotrufo was born in Matera, Italy. She received her Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2023 with the thesis “Development of multi-layered skin phantoms with embedded perfusable microvasculature for Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography”, carried out at the Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering of the Medical University of Vienna. She then worked at the same Center as a Researcher under grant from April to December 2023 and later at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of Politecnico di Torino from February to October 2024. She is currently a Ph.D. student in Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of Politecnico di Torino. Her research is mainly focused on photoacoustic imaging, particularly on simulation, acquisition and processing of photoacoustic images.
