Biography

Angela Carboni is an assistant professor in Transportation Engineering (rtd-A) from 2022 at the Department of Environmental, Land and Infrastructure Engineering of the Polytechnic of Turin on the main topic 'Climate change and transport systems: simulation of impacts and possible solutions'. She holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering Transport Infrastructure and Systems and a PhD in Energetics from the Polytechnic University of Turin, where she was a post-doctoral research fellow in Transport until 2021. She teaches in different courses concerning transport engineering in Bachelor and Master degrees and 2nd level Specializing Master at Politecnico di Torino. She also participates in innovative teaching projects (Challenge@Polito) as a mentor. In 2023, she obtained the Learning To Teach (L2T) Certification for basic theoretical and practical skills for teaching and learning in universities (https://bestr.it/award/show/l6OVJEiaQe65Nn-kJuSDrg). Author of more than 30 scientific papers mainly concerning traffic micro-simulation and macro-simulation, gender balance in transport sector and mobility, Intelligent Transport Systems, road safety and freight transport. Member of the boards of SIDT (Italian Society of Transport Teachers) and AIIT (Italian Association for Traffic and Transport Engineering).
