Scientific branch

CEAR-06/A - Mechanics of Solids and Structures
(Area 0008 - Civil engineering and architecture)

Research topics

  • Monitoring and resistance of materials. This area of research is dedicated to innovative experimental and non-destructive testing aimed at defining the integrity characteristics of structures in situ and in the laboratory and the durability of materials used in techniques for structural consolidation. In the research conducted by the candidate, the scale of the structure and the scale of the laboratory have traveled hand in hand by promoting the analysis of absolutely prestigious artifacts such as historic and monumental buildings, also observed through "ad hoc" tests on materials and specimens from the same structures. Methods of data analysis were proposed that were original or constituted an initial application on materials such as brick masonry and stone.
