Biography

BSc in Mechanical Engineering at Università della Calabria in 2012, MSc in Energy and Nuclear Engineering at Politecnico di Torino in 2014 and in Energy Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2015, and Alta Scuola Politecnica graduate with a project on the development of automatic diagnosis systems based on ultrasound imaging, yielding two international patents. From 2014 to 2018 is a PhD student in Energetics at the Energy Department (DENERG) of Politecnico di Torino, with a thesis on the development of a system-level thermal-hydraulic model for the Breeding Blanket and Balance-of-Plant of nuclear fusion reactors (GETTHEM). In 2017 he is awarded a EUROfusion Engineering Grant within the Work Package Balance-of-Plant, through which he is Assistant Professor (RTD-A) in the Nuclear Plants sector (ING-IND/19) at DENERG, moving forward with the GETTHEM development and its multiphysics extension (thermal-hydraulics, tritium and activated corrosion product transport, magnetohydrodynamics). From 2022 to 2025 he is Assistant Professor (RTD-B) in the Nuclear Plants sector (ING-IND/19) at DENERG; his research activity focuses on system- and component-level modelling, with an emphasis on multiphysics modelling (neutronics and magnetohydrodynamics) for nuclear fusion molten salt blankets. Since May 2025 he is Associate Professor in the Nuclear Plants sector (IIND-07/D) at DENERG, responsible for the course "Biomedical and Industrial Applications of Radiations". His research interest include: system-level modelling of nuclear fusion reactor components, design and analysis of tritium extraction systems for liquid breeders, multiphysics modelling, radiation transport modelling for therapy and radioisotope production.
